Payment Terms

In order to confirm your charter, we will require a deposit of 50% of the final balance in order to book your dates. Please remember that prior to this, your booking remains temporary and subject to cancellation if we do not hear back from you within 10 days of expressing your interest.
The remaining balance is to be received 4 weeks prior to charter commencement.
Should a charter booking be made less than 4 weeks prior to charter commencement date, the full charter cost is required to confirm and secure the yacht.

Both deposits and final payments may be made at our offices in cash, cheque or credit card (+2.65% charge)or via bank transfer.


Security Deposits

All security deposits should be affected in cash prior to the commencement of the charter and are fully refundable once the vessel has been cleaned and checked at the end of the charter. Security deposit rates are as follows:

Bareboat Charters
€1500 -Bavaria 36
€3000 – Beneteau Cyclades 50.5

Skippered Charter
€1000 on all vessels

One Day Charters
No security deposit required however clients will be required to sign an agreement prior to the charter wherein they will be responsible for the payment of any avoidable damages, should these occur during the day.


Booking Discounts

Cancellation Policies
We understand that sometimes, the unexpected happens and things don’t go to plan. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
  • Bookings cancelled more than 90 days before charter: €150 cancellation fee
  • Bookings cancelled 90 – 31 days before embarkation: 50%deposit  will be retained
  • Bookings cancelled less than 30 days before embarkation: Full payment will be retained
If we find a charter to replace the cancelled booking, we will gladly refund the cancellation fees.


Bare-boat Charter – Skipper Qualification Requirements

For bareboat charter we require that at least one of the charter guests has a minimum of RYA/MCA coastal skipper or International body equivalent. Before embarkation, we will also provide an experience form which should detail the skipper/crew’s previous experience. We will need this form to be completed and handed back to us before the start of the charter 


Bareboat Charter – Schedule:

It is advisable to start the charter period from a Saturday and finish on the following Saturday.

Charter conditions may, from time to time be subject to change by Malta Yacht Charters Ltd. In any such case, we will notify the client prior to signing any charter agreements.
